How long did it take for YOUR "transcript status" to change to RECEIVED?

BU Medical Sciences

I sent my official transcripts on the 19th of May and have yet to see a change in my status on AMCAS.

What do you think is the general turn-around time for transcript status to be received?

I guess most important is: Did anyone submit their transcripts AFTER May 19 and has already received transcript verification from AMCAS??

I want to see if I should go ahead and order another set of transcripts to be sent in. :/

About a week in most of their cases, sometimes two. I'd call AMCAS to check if they received them. I'd also call your schools to make sure they actually sent them. Do you have receipts or tracking numbers?

I called them they said no - not received. I called my school and they said they did send them out. They never gave me receipt or tracking number (is that the norm?). They did send me an email saying it has been sent, though.

It varies from school to school. I ordered my transcripts online and was automatically given tracking numbers. Call your schools again and ask them if they can provide you the tracking number or check in any way.

I have the same issue. Granted, it could be because the transcripts are coming from Canada but one was sent to AACOMAS at the same time and was received on May 29th. I emailed AMCAS and they said "It can take up to 10 business days from the date AMCAS received your transcript until it is matched to your application." I understood that as it may be there, they just haven't gotten around to matching it so it's not marked as received yet.
Either way, I panicked and arranged for another set to be sent in.

Ughh. I guess if they're not received by tomorrow morning, I'll send it in again. Man I wish I had a tracking number!!

Mine were sent out by my schools on May 19 (both of my schools sent it out that day, a CC for a summer class and my normal undergrad), and AAMC coincidentally marked both as received on May 23. I would imagine at this point that AAMC is bogged down by the large volume of transcripts and it will take more time than normal, depending on when your transcripts reach.

OP, I sent mine on the 19th as well and no news from AMCAS.

I sent in a new transcript yesterday. Well see what happens. It looks like from above some people sent in after 19th and got "received" updates. So this is worrying.

Ask your school when they sent it. They should be able to tell you the postmarked date. I requested a transcript on May 20th, and when I called the school yesterday they said that it was postmarked on May 28th. AMCAS just changed the status to "received" today. So its possible that your college took their time to send it. On the other hand, the other transcript I requested on May 20th was sent by my school the very next day and the AMCAS status changed just a few days later.

Don't they explicitly say NOT to send in multiple times?

Also yeah I had mine sent on the 28th and they were received today.

Where do they explicitly state that?

I mean what am I supposed to do? Keep waiting for a couple months? Might as well be safe and send in another copy. I don't understand how people sending it way after I did have gotten received status. Idk.

I could have sworn I read that somewhere.

Either way I understand your pain. Maybe there is confusion with the request form? Hopefully you get it received soon.

I resent mine. Weren't showing as received after two weeks? Resend, resend, okay. Probably a waste of $20 worth of fees, and the time of whatever clerical staff have to open all that mail and match it up to the appropriate application, but I will at least not panic again for two more weeks.

Mine was mailed on May 28th and still nothing, while my friends who sent theirs on the same exact day got the received status on June 3rd. I called and they said it's normal but nothing about that sounds normal to me. I know they say 10 to 15 days, but that implies that it can be anywhere in between that simply depending on when they get to your transcript and regardless of who is before or after you.
This whole thing is a bit inefficient, considering how much is dependent on the status of the transcript.
